biography
//
Dave has always had a passion for photography. As a kid
he dreamt of being one of the guy’s at the side
of a boxing ring, shooting the big fight.
He has been working in a professional capacity for the
past ten years. During this time he has made an effort
to gain experience in as wide a range of fields as possible,
including editorial, fashion, commercial and press photography.
Dave started as a junior sports photographer at his local
newspaper while still at school. Since then he has had
his work published in various national newspapers, including
The Times, The Independent, The Telegraph and a selection
of tabloids.
One of his most rewarding moments was when a unique book
containing images of stars from the golden era of Hollywood,
for which he was responsible for all photography, raised
over $85,000 at a charity auction in Los Angeles in 1999.
One of Dave’s more recent projects was to photograph
the demolition of the Tricorn centre. A collection of
these images will be exhibited in Portsmouth in September
2005. In October of last year the Guardian Society website
used one of Dave’s photographs as part of an article
about the demise of Britain’s ugliest building.
Recently, Dave has been photographing the south’s
music scene, covering everything from Jazz bands to Hard
house DJs.
"The challenge of capturing
a person doing what they love, in an intimate, exciting
and original way is tremendously fulfilling."
Dave’s next target is to photograph bands appearing
at this summer’s major festivals.
Though he is currently directing his interests towards
music photography, Dave is able to put his experience
and unique style to use on any project.
